The Rules of Acquisition

This last week I have been quite the Ferengi. I have acquired quite a bit. Most of my Christmas presents, the two tone shoes and the pendent for my wedding. I got a DVD for a dollar that had Felix the Cat cartoons. Felix has been called by the cartoon scholars as the the Mickey Mouse of the silent era. He had command of the box office and health market in merchandising even though Pat Sullivan was the Anti-Walt. It always tickled me that on WDW's Main Street in the Penny Archade was a motoscope that had a portion of a Felix cartoon. It was my habit to drop a penny each and every time I set foot in the Magic Kingdom. This has been gone at least 7, 8 years, now a sports merchandise store. You can understand my pleasure, upon veiwing, that this cartoon was present on the disk.

Speaking of disks, ever since I visited Kerry Anderson (Coates) in New Mexico, I have been seeking a CD by David Schnaufer called "Tennessee Music Box." It is a wonderful example of Mr. Schnaufer's talent, though Kerry didn't think much of it. The problem lay in the fact that it was "out of print." I tried various avenues. All failures. Finally they were rereleased, through McSpadden Dulcimers. On a whim, I ordered not only that CD, but a fresh copy of his "Dulcimer Sessions Deluxe." I was amazed that they arrived. I didn't see them any where else. Turns out McSpadden has lone distribution rights, though I learned later that my friend Lee Ann could of percured a copy for me. She is kindly sending two dulcimer song books.

A definte spirtof material gain.
