Leftovers
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner . . . the day after. Trina (Yoko's mother) and Yoko brought me a plate with 3 different pies. Thank you again. But it just isn't Thanksgiving unless you have thirds. Yoko cooked up a turkey breast with all the trimmings. Oli (aka Oliver the Brave) went frantic over the turkey. When I first met him he was so shy that he would hide until I left. So to win him over I took the food = love theory. I put kibbles in the bowl and little snippets of meat from my plate. This graduated into the same relationship as my Father and all the dogs we ever had . . . first bite/ last bite. But then Oli is very much a dog . . . for a cat. He likes to be in the room with people (he knows,) he begs, reqires alot of attention, and rolls over. And while Yoko claims he will "play dead" . . . I have yet to see it. But I believe her.
Today I thought back to when I was a puppetteer at EPCOT. Renee, on of my fellow puppetteers, shared with us after watching a commercial for holiday turkeys that her mother and grandmother used the term "turkey" as a code word for the male genatailya. My responce was that it put a whole new slant to the name "Butterball."
Finally I heard on the news that the number one holiday where we Americans consume the most food is not Thanksgiving. According to them it is Superbowl Sunday. Well I wouldn't of guessed that . . . I mean I never thought of the Superbowl as a national holiday. Never even been interested . . . I mean how can they call it the SUPERbowl? The don't even have Aquaman in it! But if there's food involved . . . well, it might be worth a looksee.
